EVENT OR BUST

Okay when you bastards arriving and leaving.
and I will bitch not about 3 planes, but the 30 hour trip....30 hours...that is 2 days of traveling each way. so if I take one week off, I get 4 days of travel and 3 days at event and post or pre event festivities.

let me know if you guys are doing a week before or week after to travel. since the Event is on a Friday, the 14th, I would have to leave the 12th to arrive on time.

so it looks like this
12-13 trave (Wed, Thurs(
14-Event
15, 16, 18, 20, 21(post party)
22, 23(travel)

8 days of vacation 4 days of weeekend.

so let me know if this is the plan for you guys or if I have to plan to hangout the week of the 7th of march instead

screw you guys ( cartman voice), I'm going home

Brazil Time

In a few hours I leave for Sao Paulo where it is summer and I can thaw my freezing ass.
Caipirinhas, Churrascarias, Ubatuba, I can't wait. In a few months you lads will experience it firsthand yourselves. But start looking for tickets early so you get a good price. I don't want to hear whining about it's too expensive or it's too long off a trip, I have to take 3 planes wahh wahh. You know who you are. I don't have to name names... Barewalls.
This is a little recon mission so I'll take lots of pics. I will also finalize on the hotel accomodation for you gents as well as possible beach houses for after "the event".
By the way no betting on my legacy. That's just wrong on so many levels.
Have to finish packing...

some news

Yes I meant literally,

http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2007/12/17/071217fa_fact_lizza
Much respect to Senator Graham and McCain after reading this. Wise men trying not to be reactionary. Oh and the article on Huckabee is not bad either.

seriously i meant news. that just sucked. I typed a post and now the system could not "complete my request" what the EFF?

check out the Gladwell and Sedaris articles. both are pretty good.

Triple Venti Latte? triple espresso shots, what do you trying to do? Dunkin doesn't do espresso shots?

I will be home the 20th of december and around until January 2nd or so.

LongName: your latest post I am sure pleases the committe of elders.
Sauce, where the fuck is you at? oh and check it, i'm thinking we (does not include you) needs to start placing bets on baby time. I am thinking July 4, 2009. If you for some idiotic reason try to go for New Year's eve, the committe of elders will be very unhappy that you ruin all chances of group New year's eve celbrations for the next 18 years or so. So just in case you had some fancy ideas.

I need to learn the Code

So i've kind of become somewhat addicted to Starbucks. Damn... I feel like i've sold out. So i now have this coffee drinking habit, it's funny because i never been a coffee drinker. Never in all my time at LU, but between work and grad school i need that extra little boost (it was either that or crack). So i started drinking a cup every morning at work. One day on my way to the library i nervously decided to try Starbucks. I was nervous becuase i know people order all these fancy things there and all i wanted was a large cup of coffee (apparently that's a veinte and a medium is a grande, it makes no sense to me). Well there coffee sucks, Dunkin Donouts is ten times better, but then i found out you can get all these other coffe drinks. So now i'm addicted to Lattes. I just got one with a triple shot of expresso, and my hands are shaking while i'm typing this and it's not becuase i have Tyrettes. So that leads me to my point, i guess there all different ways to can order, the code word for mine was a Triple Veinte Latte, i'll just have it as a large Latte with an extra shot of expresso.

By the way i saw LongName's blog yesterday before someone required him to take it down, simply hilarious. With that said is Barewalls gonna be around for the holidays and if so New Years???

I love work

Here are some motivational posters for you to read in case you're feeling down.

I find the tradition one pretty inspiring.

The German Lotto was at a record 43 million last night. I'm not sure if anyone won but I know who didn't win. But that's ok. I get the best prize. I get to continue working.
Do you know the odds of winning the Lotto are suppose to be the same as the odds of becoming a CEO at a Fortune 500 company. I dunno, I just made that up but it sounds right. They also say the Lotto is a stupid people tax. But what do "they" know anyway.

10 more days till vacation. The count down begins.
I can't wait since I'm having too much fun at work.

from a land far far away

http://bestpicever.com/pic-480-Racism-at-Walgreens

now that my friends is hilarity. CVS totally ru els. so really i've got nothing except you haven't really lived until you hear Sir Mixaolot's "baby got back" in Mandarin, especially, "oh my god, look at her butt part" I almost cried...laughing that is. so there is an interesting hip hop scene in Shanghai, i got to see a lot of the original breakers in Shanghai, just watch them do their thing. I wish I could break...the only thing I break on a consistent basis is my damn body every time I play sports. I am definitley getting old. by the way

http://www.overheardinnewyork.com/ check it out. good times. go to the all time favorites and you will laugh out loud at work and have people look at you strangely. thats all I got.

Argula on fuxing lu and Wulumuqi lu in Shanghai has a pretty good Gnocchi and Quesadilla, but stay away from the wine.

agreed Weatherman is good. the WIRE is the greatest TV show ever and possibly better than any movie i have seen, possibly, but it is still up for review. American Gangster, solid, 7.7 chicken wings out of 10. 3:10 to Yuma 7.6 as well. , solid. Lord of War, when I saw it. 7.5out of 10. all ratings are in chicken wings.

over and out.

Monday Randomness

Do you ever get a case of the Monday's. I do. You know the only cure is Fridays. That or lots of alcohol and cheap women. I've only ever had luck with Fridays.

Do you ever see those old people with those huge sunglasses. I like to think they're like x-ray vision for old people. Then one day when you get old enough, you join the club and you get your pair. I think this is a pipe dream though. You know where i see these old people with their huge sunglasses, driving up I-95 at 9 in the morning going 45 and weaving back and forth. I think if you need glass that big to drive then maybe you shouldn't be on the road that time in the morning getting in my way. Let's be frank maybe you shouldn't be on the road at all.

Do you ever ride in an elevator. Elevators are fun. I was at the library today on the elevator. There's just something wierd about a bunch of people that don't know each other in tight quaters standing there staring at a door. Wouldn't it be funny if all of a sudden when the doors closed you stared freaking out just to see the other people reaction. I do, so today i started thinkng about that on my elevator ride and started to laugh a little. The other people thought i was crazy.

You should come up with creative ways to give people the finger while driving. My new favorite is pretend like i'm looking for something in the glove box, then all of a sudden pull out my finger. Actually i haven't given anyone the finger since someone tried to run me off the road last year.

I can't wait till Friday, or cheap women. Whatever comes first.

Chimay On Tap

I recently visited a bar and much to my liver's delight, there was Chimay on tap... this probably the strongest beer i've ever had (or i'm just old), but i was feeling woozy after 4 beers... What a fantastic beer to be bestowed upon our lands.

Sauce -- i'm very ecstatic about your jubilant food critique. I hope to visit you in Cologne within in the next few yrs and consume such said delights.

Whiteness -- best of luck on your exams.

Barewalls -- I know life in the trenches is rough... don't lose your mind and go Colonel Kurtz on us... you have the will to stay strong...

BTW -- Saw this movie the "Weather Man" with Nicholas Cage and Michael Caine... didn't get much fanfare (or any at all) in the States, but was a pretty damn good movie... recommend you guys check it out.
